ABOUT PROJECT
Developing a comprehensive visual identity and motion ecosystem for a premier media production studio, anchored by a dynamic logomark that adapts to any screen size. Nova Studios is an industry-leading production agency known for creating high-impact visual campaigns for global brands. Their existing visual identity felt static, outdated, and uninspired on high-resolution screens. They turned to Clonex for a complete identity overhaul and motion design system. They needed a bold brand presence that felt active, authoritative, and deeply intertwined with motion design—proving their creative capabilities the second a client lands on their digital platforms.
THE CHALLENGES
The obstacle was creating a complex, highly expressive motion identity system that looks fluid on broadcast screens yet loads instantly on mobile web browsers. Traditional brand identities are designed for print first, then animated as an afterthought. Nova Studios needed the exact opposite: an identity born from motion. However, complex vector movements and heavy kinetic renders designed in tools like After Effects generate massive export files. When implemented onto web portfolios or digital overlays, these files cause immediate performance lags, block initial page rendering, and scale poorly when stretched across diverse viewports.
THE APPROACH
We built a variable logo system using severe geometric grids and deployed it across digital surfaces via ultra-lightweight SVG vector animation files. Brutalist Identity Architecture Clonex developed an identity system anchored by heavy, brutalist geometry and a vivid, high-visibility color palette. The typography relies on absolute geometric weights to maintain a definitive presence across digital displays.
Nova Studios needed a brand system that felt alive. Clonex developed a responsive vector logomark system designed to stretch, warp, and react fluidly across multiple digital assets. Using Cinema 4D and After Effects, we created an extensive kinetic library for broadcast lower-thirds, social media assets, and digital merchandise templates. By optimizing complex motion curves into lightweight SVG Vector Systems, we ensured that the agency's bold, high-contrast geometry scales flawlessly across everything from giant digital billboards to mobile interfaces.
